Mountain, lake or countryside, whatever your favorite destination, you can easily reach it starting from Perugia.
In a few minutes you can reach the romantic shores of Lake Trasimeno for a visit to its beautiful islands or a walk on the lakefront at sunset. If you like the mountains you can go on an excursion to the Monti Sibillini National Park or, in the summer season, you can see the splendid blooming in Castelluccio di Norcia.

Only in Umbria can you taste the torta al testo, a white focaccia cooked on a special plate called “testo”, or the torta al formaggio, a savory cheese cake typical of this region. If you like desserts, you can’t miss the traditional ciaramicola or the San Costanzo torcolo. But also truffle, lake fish and lake bean and Umbrian pork butchery.

In Perugia you can admire churches, monuments and museums, but also ruins and archaeological areas. Among the visits that can not miss the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the Palazzo dei Priori, the Basilica of San Domenico, the National Gallery or the Etruscan Well. With a small trip out of town, you will have the opportunity to visit Assisi with the Basilica of San Francesco or Spello with its splendid flower-filled streets. And this is only the beginning of the long list of cities of art.

If you like traditional terracotta, Deruta with its craftsmen is the destination for you.
